Bulawayo South Province

B ulawayo South Province was created on the 27th of January 2008 with 16 Assemblies. It has now grown to 20 Assemblies. The province stretches from Tsholotsho to Plumtree Border Post in the west, Matopos area up to 12th avenue on the Eastern side demarcating the border with Bulawayo North Province and Matebeleland South Province. Rev. C. Mupakaidzwa is the current chairman of the province.

Our prime objective is to enhance church growth through intercession, evangelism, projects, education, welfare and social responsibility, effective communication and efficient administration, so as to extend the Kingdom of God to the whole world in general and in particular Bulawayo South Province.

On the 27th of January 2008 the Bulawayo South Province was born with 16 assemblies. Through evangelism efforts 4 new assemblies have been born. We have also managed to help our pastors to be mobile through acquiring cars. We have also managed to secure a place in which we intend to build our conference centre. The area is about 1400 hectares. As a province we intend to finish the conference centre by 2015-2016.

Youth activities within AFMZ are based on holistic and integrative approach where all the needs of the human person are addressed, these needs are; spiritual, social, intellectual (SOUL, SPIRIT & BODY).All the teaching and programmes with the AFMZ youth departments are based on the confession of faith outlined in the constitution of AFMZ. These are Biblically based and pentecostally driven. The youth programmes with AFM are designed in a manner that addresses the full being. These programmes are implemented from assembly level, provincial to national level.

We have managed to help our pastors to be mobile through acquiring cars. We have also managed to secure a place in which we intend to build our conference centre. The area is about 1400 hectares. As a province we intend to finish the conference centre by 2015-2016.

  • 4 new assemblies have been created since the inception of the province
  • 14 churches have got church stands at different levels of development
  • Acquired a provincial stand covering an area of 1400 hectares.
  • 7 fully completed church buildings, 3 halls.
  • 15 pastors have vehicles through a provincial scheme to make their work easy.
  • The YPU is fundraising to purchase a provincial P.A System
  • Ladies union have bought around 400 chairs for province.

To cap it all, we are still holding our Provincial Conferences in a successful way. Projects are going at a low pace. Evangelism has become the motto for church growth and we are hoping for a good future.

Four crusades have been conducted in the second half of the year at the following assemblies

  • Emganwini West
  • New Life Rev. ival Centre
  • Bethlehem
  • Living Waters
  • A significant challenge which befell us as Bulawayo South Province is the death of our two pastors in January 2012 and injuries to other pastors in the same accident. This actually left us poured down and we are regathering. Rev. M. Moyo, one of the critically injured pastors is now on the recovery path as he came back to life and has a testimony to share. Interviews were done with him and you can consult with City Media for more details.
  • We have trained pastors, both men and women but we have limited vacancies to cater for them all.
  • Financial constraints will go a long way haunting us as companies in Bulawayo are closing.
