From The General Secretary's Desk

Our God is a faithful God. He has sustained Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe for a 100 years.

Apostolic Faith Mission was launched on the 25th of May 1908 at Doomfontein, Johannesburg in South Africa by John G. Lake together with his companion Thomas Hezmalhalch. Through oral tradition, we learn that our own Zimbabwean migrants who had gone into South Africa seeking jobs in mines and farms returned back home having been converted into the new Pentecostal movement from as early as 1909. However, official records held with the AFM of South Africa indicate that one evangelist Zacharias Manamela crossed the Limpopo in 1914 and started evangelizing in Gwanda early 1915. He is said to have been under W. Frank Dugmore who was the National Secretary General of AFM South Africa and an enthusiast Missionary.

God has taken AFM in Zimbabwe through a span of 100 years this year. As a Church, we are celebrating this prestigious land mark at our National Conference Centre; Rufaro Farm, Chatsworth in Masvingo from Wednesday the 26th to Sunday the 30th of August 2015. The special Conference has a befitting theme simply entitled "Celebrating 100 Years of Being Established on a Solid Foundation" taken from 1 Corinthians 3:11 which says: "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ"

Preparations are at an advanced stage as we up our services and infrastructure to meet with the massive influx expected. We look forward to host many delegates and dignitaries from all over the World. These include the President of AFM International Professor F. Chikane, representatives from different countries where AFM has established, heads of Denominations (local & international) as well as our Zimbabwean Government's officials. We have an exciting tailor-made Program lined up already for the Centennial Celebrations. Musical Ministries, Choirs, Historical Narrations to mention just a few. Wednesday 26th is set aside for intercession. Thursday 27 from the morning service up to Lunch hour, our Ladies Department will be leading while soon after Lunch, the YPU Department will take over. General services will start Thursday evening.

As Secretary General, may I take this opportunity to congratulate the church while inviting all of you to the Centennial Celebratory Conference. May the Lord accord to each and everyone of you His sufficient Grace as you prepare for the pilgrimage.

God bless you.

Rev AD Madawo (Secretary General)
